EVA strengthens transatlantic dialogue at the NAMA Show 2026

  • Driven by the vibrant energy of Los Angeles, the EVA – represented by Julie Barth – attended the 2026 edition of the NAMA Show, one of the leading global events for the convenience services and unattended retail industry.

The exhibition once again provided an excellent platform for meaningful exchanges, international networking and discussions on the future evolution of the sector. EVA would like to thank the NAMA team for their warm welcome, excellent organisation and continued commitment to supporting the industry.

Throughout the event, EVA had the opportunity to reconnect with existing partners, engage with new stakeholders and exchange views on the major trends and challenges currently shaping the industry on both sides of the Atlantic.

The discussions were particularly relevant given the strong momentum currently seen in the US market. According to the latest NAMA industry census, the US convenience services market is expected to reach approximately $31.1 billion in revenue in 2025, with the industry continuing to demonstrate strong growth and resilience. The sector has become one of the strongest-performing segments of the wider foodservice industry, supported by growing demand for unattended retail and workplace convenience solutions.

Several key developments emerged during discussions at the show:

    • Micro markets continue to be the fastest-growing segment, with annual growth projected above 10% through 2030.
    • Smart technologies are becoming increasingly important, with around 41% of vending operators already using smart coolers, allowing greater flexibility and enhanced consumer experiences.
    • Healthier product options continue to gain importance, with operators reporting increasing demand for lower-sugar products, fresh food solutions and more balanced assortments.
    • Sustainability remains high on the agenda, with most operators focusing on reducing food waste and improving energy efficiency.

While the US and European markets each have their own characteristics and regulatory frameworks, many common themes are clearly emerging. Technology integration, changing consumer expectations, sustainability objectives and connected retail solutions are increasingly becoming shared priorities across regions.

These exchanges highlighted how international cooperation is becoming more important than ever in helping the industry better understand regional differences while identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

The ongoing relationship between EVA and NAMA therefore takes on even greater significance, reflecting a common ambition to support and strengthen the vending and unattended retail sector globally.

The show also offered an opportunity to recognise the importance of diversity and leadership within the industry. The Women in the Industry Reception highlighted the increasing contribution of female professionals across the sector and demonstrated the value of encouraging broader representation throughout the industry.

Beyond technology and business discussions, the NAMA Show remains above all a human experience — bringing together professionals, creating lasting connections and reinforcing the sense of community that continues to drive the industry forward.

EVA looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing the dialogue in the months ahead.
